How Can You Manage Time in Your Jewelry Business?

Elliot Maza

Being your boss is fantastic! However, learning to manage your time in your jewelry business so that you are not constantly clocking in and out can be difficult. Following are the most helpful tips to manage your Jewelry business.

Make Use of a Project Management System

Your memory, no matter how good it is, is no match for technology. Organizing your tasks and priorities in a project management system like Asana, Basecamp, or Trello can save your life.

Things are easy to overlook when you're an entrepreneur, but as your team grows, these apps can help keep everyone on the exact page. There's also the added benefit of knowing you're crossing things off your "to-do" list.

No more waking up at midnight in a cold sweat, wondering if you responded to that email or shipped that order!

Time Limit

Once you've determined your three daily priorities, schedule time for them in your calendar. To hold yourself accountable, you can schedule a meeting with yourself via your Google calendar or something.

You must be consistent, especially when it comes to profit-making activities. Scheduling this time on your calendar is the most important thing you can do for the health of your company.

As Mark Cuban says, "sales cure all," so if you have sufficient money coming in, you can fix other problems that arise.

Plan Your Day/Week Ahead of Time

Organizing your time begins with organizing your calendar. Each month, you should have a list of projects you want to complete. Breaking this down by week and then by day allows you to take small steps toward a larger goal that will help your business grow.

I recommend setting three priorities per day and three goals per week. When you have completed those three priorities for the day, you know you're on the right track.

Otherwise, you'll become engrossed in the day-to-day operations of your business and lose sight of generating revenue.

Hire Assistance

Outsourcing tasks you are not naturally good at is the only way to get the most out of your time. This does not imply hiring people from another country, but rather bringing in help because then you can focus on what you enjoy.

Hire a bookkeeper instead of labeling your business transactions yourself! Hire a virtual assistant if you're not good at graphic design, email scheduling, or writing blog posts.

We can call it the freedom method, but it goes by many other names. It all comes down to doing what you're naturally gifted at, such as designing jewelry, conversing with customers, or sharing your story.

True visionaries understand that they do not need to do everything in their business. Start practicing these time management tips by only saying "yes" to the creative work you excel at!
